An Investigation of Love,Madness and Death in Horacio Quiroga′s Work Based on the Feather Pillow

《羽毛枕头》是“拉丁美洲短篇小说奠基人”奥拉西奥·基罗加最负盛名的短篇小说之一,收录于短篇小说集《爱情疯狂和死亡的故事》。这部小说集中的大部分故事都围绕爱、疯狂和死亡三个主题展开,且三者相互纠缠,紧密相连。以《羽毛枕头》为例,从叙事细节、精神分析法和宿命论思想三个角度分析三者之间的联系并得出死亡必然性的结论。

The Feather Pillow is one of the most famous short stories written by Horacio Quiroga,who is considered as"the founder of the Latin American short story",and is included in the short story collection Tales of love madness and death.Most of the stories in this collection revolve around the three themes of love,madness and death,and the three are intertwined and closely connected.Taking The Feather Pillow as an example,this paper analyzes the connection between the three from the perspectives of narrative details,psychoanalysis and fatalism,and draws the conclusion of the inevitability of death.
