CAO Yi’s Experience in Treating Optic Atrophy from Stasis Xuanfu

曹奕教授认为,视神经萎缩的发生与外感温热、情志异常、先天禀赋、久病体虚等多种因素有关,各类虚实之邪均可损伤玄府及其周围脉络,致气血内停,玄府失养,瘀血内生,阻滞脉络而视物不清,故基本病机为瘀阻玄府,病位主要在肝,与肾、脾密切相关,病理因素主要有虚、热、瘀,其中又以瘀为重要。治疗上曹奕教授注重化瘀行血、清热生津、调补肝脾肾。曹奕教授认为艾灸能够温经散寒、引热外行、消瘀散结,故常在针刺补虚祛瘀的基础上配合艾灸温散气血,扶正祛邪,在临床上能取得较好的疗效。

Professor CAO Yi believes that the occurrence of optic atrophy is related to various factors such as exogenous heat,abnormal emotion,congenital endowment,chronic illness and physical weakness,etc.All kinds of evils of deficiency and excess can damage Xuanfu and its surrounding veins,causing Qi and blood internal Stop,Xuanfu loses nourishment,blood stasis grows inward,blocks veins and blurs vision,so the basic pathogenesis is blood stasis blocking Xuanfu,the disease location is mainly in the liver,closely related to kidney and spleen,and the pathological factors mainly include deficiency,Heat and stasis,among which stasis is the most important.In terms of treatment,Professor CAO Yi pays attention to removing blood stasis,promoting blood flow,clearing away heat and promoting body fluid,regulating liver,spleen and kidney.Professor CAO Yi believes that moxibustion can warm the meridians and dispel cold,induce heat outside the body,and eliminate blood stasis and stagnation.Therefore,acupuncture is often combined with moxibustion on the basis of tonifying deficiency and dispelling blood stasis,strengthening the body and dispelling pathogenic factors,and can achieve relatively good results in clinical practice,good curative effect.
