乌韦·提姆是德国当代著名作家之一。他的自传小说《以我的兄长为例》问世之后引起了广泛关注。这部小说兼具德国新家庭小说和父亲文学两种文学类型的特色。小说不仅在对兄长的回忆中引发了整个家庭对于第二次世界大战的记忆,同时又成为二战后联邦德国所面临的美国化和德国传统价值观与生活方式分崩瓦解的文化档案,记录了二战之后联邦德国面临的文化问题和不同代际德国人对此的应对。

Uwe Timm is one of the famous contemporary German writers. His autobiographical novel “Am Beispiel meines Bruders” has attracted much attention since its release. This novel has the characteristics of two literary genres: new German family novel and fatherhood literature. It revolves around his older brother and the whole family’s memories of the Second World War. In addition, it serves as a cultural archive of the Americanization of the Federal Republic of Germany and the disintegration of traditional German values and lifestyles after the Second World War, documenting the cultural problems faced by the Federal Republic of Germany and the responses of different generations of Germans.
