助力学业成功:美国一流大学学生事务管理的新使命、新模式与新支撑

Empowering Student Success:New Missions,New Models,and New Supports of Student Affairs in US First-class Universities

高等教育的发展进入了新时代,为适应学生更加多样化的需求,大学应积极推动学生事务管理改革。美国一流大学学生事务管理模式以及两所学校的案例,诠释了美国一流大学将丰富学生体验、助力学业成功作为学生事务管理的新使命;将支持学生参与校园治理、学习成果评估作为学生事务管理的新模式;将建设能力素质匹配度高、适应性和稳定性强的专业队伍,作为学生事务管理的新支撑。我国大学应更新理念,重新认识学生事务管理的使命和职能;系统规划,全面对接高校发展战略制定学生事务管理战略;聚焦质量,充分发挥学生参与和学生事务评估的价值功用;强化支撑,为学生事务人员开辟全方位的专业发展通道。

With the new era coming into higher education,universities are actively motivating reforms in student affairs to meet the more diverse needs of students.This study analyzes the reform practices of student affairs among higher education institutes of US first-class with a focus on two universities.The results indicated that,first,US first-class universities prioritize enriching learning experiences and empowering student success in student affairs.Second,they update the model of student affairs which is oriented toward supporting students'participation in campus governance and student learning outcomes assessment.Third,they strengthen the importance to build up a professional team of staff with high levels of competencies,adaptability,and stability.Chinese universities are recommended to recognize the mission and function of student affairs,and to formulate a systematic strategy linking it to the development strategy of corresponding universities.Moreover,universities are suggested to value students'participation in governance and assessment,and pave the way for enabling student-affairs staff to further careers.
