Lifelong education is not only an educational trend and idea,but also a form of educational practice.The construction of China’s lifelong education system has undergone several stages,including the initial construction period,the development and evolution period and the modernization period.Open University and its predecessor,Radio and Television University,are promoting universal learning and the popularization of higher education.In the process of implementing the concept and policy of lifelong education,it has contributed its own strength and played a unique role.Under the new historical conditions,open university should focus on promoting the construction of supply channels to promote the construction of lifelong education system,and implement specific paths and strategies to promote the development of lifelong education.
