On the Triple Transcendence of Chinese Modernization over Western Modernity

中国式现代化既具有各国现代化的特征,又具有中国特色。中国式现代化实现了对西方现代性的三重超越:理论上,西方现代性以理性哲学为主导,但它最终走向工具理性并受制于资本逻辑,而中国式现代化则以马克思主义为指导,超越了工具理性和资本逻辑;实践上,西方现代性的政治实践所推崇的民主是一种形式民主,其经济实践所坚持的自由市场经济无法克服资本主义经济危机,其文化实践倡导的普世文化本质上是一种文化渗透,而中国式现代化以政治上的全过程人民民主、经济上的社会主义市场经济和文化上的社会主义先进文化在实践维度上实现了对西方现代性的超越;价值上,西方现代性所追求的普世价值最终带来的是世界和平秩序的破坏,而中国式现代化倡导构建人类命运共同体,由此在价值维度上超越了西方现代性。

Chinese modernization has both the characteristics of modernization in various countries and Chinese characteristics.Chinese modernization has realized the triple transcendence over Western modernity:theoretically,Western modernity is dominated by rational philosophy,but it eventually moves towards instrumental rationality and is restricted to capital logic,while Chinese modernization,guided by Marxism,goes beyond these two limits;in practice,the democracy advocated by the political practice of western modernity is a formalized democracy,the free market economy that its economic practice insists on cannot overcome the capitalist economic crisis,and the universal culture advocated by its cultural practice is essentially a kind of cultural penetration.Chinese modernization has achieved transcendence on Western modernity in the practical dimension with a whole-process of people’s democracy in politics,the socialist market economy in economy and the advanced socialist culture in culture;in value,the universal value pursued by Western modernity ultimately brings about the destruction of world peace and order,while Chinese modernization advocates building a community with a shared future for mankind,thus surpassing Western modernity in value dimension.
