嵌译——微信息时代新闻述评中的一种新型变译

Inset Translation:A New Variational Translation in News Reviews in Micro-information Age

微信息时代革新了信息的存在形式和获取方式。全球信息互相碰撞的同时,也给翻译活动注入了新活力。本文从国际新闻述评涉及的翻译活动入手,讨论了一种尚未引起足够关注的翻译现象——嵌译。嵌译是指译者摄取原文信息生成观点,并用以形成文章主题或佐证文章论点的翻译活动,可分为核心嵌译和辅助性嵌译。嵌译可以多种方式呈现在文本中,如划线、标注来源,嵌译者将其嵌入文本时可采用多种译法,如意译、解释性翻译等。嵌译深入浅出,互动性强,长于其灵活性,也囿于其灵活性。它的出现受科技进步和社会需求的推动,也有赖于嵌译者的创造力。

Micro-information age has seen the innovation of the way that information is produced and obtained.The interaction and communication of global information have brought translation activities new energy.The paper focuses on the inset translation,a new type of variational translation used in the international news reviews,that has not attracted enough attention.Inset translation is defined in this paper as a type of translation which is inset by a writer in his/her news review to construct his/her review or comment on an international event.Such translated segment may be used as the theme or a support in a news review,with the former called the core inset translation while the latter the auxiliary one.Inset translations are produced by various methods like free translation,explanatory translation,etc.and take various forms in news reviews,such as underlining,crediting the source,etc..They are featured with flexibility as they may be either short or long,simple or complex,fully-cited or partly-cited,which thus may also be its drawback.Inset translations are frequently used to meet the inset-translators'demands and desires for creation with the appearance of new media in high-tech age.
