摘要
采用经典电子理论和麦克斯韦电磁场理论阐述了介质折射率的概念及光学介质色散和吸收形成的物理原因;给出了一种常规材料在电磁波全域范围内的折射率分布,使学生对折射率在全域范围的分布有一个感性认识;简单介绍了负折射率材料和零折射率材料两种科学前沿领域的非常规折射率材料。将科学前沿知识融入介质折射率的教学中,对折射率常规概念进行了扩展,以期促进和提高大学物理教学质量。
Using classical electronic theory and Maxwell electromagnetic field theory,the concept of the medium refractive index is elaborated.We explain the physical causes of the dispersion and absorption formation in the optical media.By a distribution of conventional materials in the whole range of electromagnetic waves,readers have a perceptual understanding of the distribution of refractive index materials.We also briefly introduce two frontier fields of unconventional refractive index materials(negative and zero refractive index materials).In this paper,we integrate advanced scientific knowledge into the teaching of medium refractive index,and expand the conventional concept of refractive index to promote and improve our physics teaching.
