This paper expounds the international rules basis for performance guarantee in international projects.It explains and compares the relevant concepts of ICC758 and ICC524 publications involving performance guarantees.It discusses the different applications of performance letters of guarantee and performance bonds in international projects.It analyzes the concepts and applications of transfer and assignment.Finally,it discusses the legal conflicts of counter-guarantees and proposes measures to avoid them.
