The Shaping of Urban Communication Space by Public Art:Case Study of Wuhu Sculpture Park

本文通过对芜湖雕塑公园个案的考察和分析,探讨其成功的独特经验,分析公共艺术在庞大的城市系统中如何展开实践活动、建立社会联系、凝练社会文化意义,研究芜湖雕塑公园如何通过连接与中介复杂的关系空间、融汇多元的艺术符号空间、促成多义性的体验空间,形塑城市公共交往空间。在经验考察基础上,文章聚焦于城市交往空间的公共性价值的实现,辨析其在现实语境中的局限性和可能性,为公共艺术更好地介入城市更新,释放空间力量提供具有普适性的理论启示。

Through the examination and analysis of the case of Wuhu Sculpture Park,this paper explores the unique experience of its success,analyzes how public art develops practical activities,establishes social connections,and condenses social and cultural meanings in the huge urban communication system.It also points out how Wuhu Sculpture Park shapes urban public interaction through connecting and mediating complex relational spaces,integrating symbolic spaces that merge multiple arts,and creating experiential spaces that trigger a multiplicity of meanings.Based on the empirical investigation,the article focuses on the realization of the public value of urban interaction space,identifies its limitations and possibilities in the real context,and provides universal theoretical insights for public art to better intervene in urban renewal and thus release the power of space.
