加里·斯奈德禅宗诗学的跨语际实践——以“十七首唐诗”英译为例

摘要 本文以斯奈德“十七首唐诗”的英译为着力点,对译文文字与意义进行语义学考察,以个案研究的方式探究翻译中的“可译性”问题,分析和探究斯奈德以禅宗思想为底色的跨语际实践。认为斯氏不仅从语言上,而且从文化上尝试克服阻抗,扩张了英语语言和诗歌的边界。这种跨语际实践不仅包括文本的转换,更蕴含了对文本的理解与诠释。作为诗人的斯奈德是译者也是作者,他没有拘泥于文本的忠实或者自由,即本雅明所批评的翻译概念层面上的语意再现和信息传达,追求对形式和意义的超越,让语言传达自身。 The paper focuses on the English translation of Snyder’s“Seventeen Tang Poems”,makes a semantic investigation on the character and meaning of the translation,explores the“translatability”in translation by means of case study,and analyzes Snyder’s lingual-crossing practice based on Zen.It is believed that Snyder tries to overcome resistance not only in language but also in culture,expanding the boundary of English language and poetry.This lingual-crossing practice not only includes the transformation of the text,but also contains the understanding and interpretation of the text.As a poet,Snyder is not only a translator but also an author.He does not stick to the faithfulness or freedom to the text which means the semantic reproduction and information transmission at the conceptual level of translation criticized by Benjamin,pursues the transcendence of form and meaning,and let the language convey itself.
