Through the interpretation of several original documents,the origin and early development of the logistic population model are introduced.It can be realized that mathematical knowledge is often not developed as simply and straightforwardly as written in most textbooks,but is presented to us by a number of scholars in a relay manner or even intermittently.While teaching the knowledge,if teachers and textbooks can also tell the students the history of its origin and development,it is beneficial to the cultivation of students′mathematical ability and mathematical literacy.
