The paper discusseed the current situation and existing problems with water-saving irrigation development in China.The analysis focuses on new situation faced by water-saving irrigation,from the aspects of building an agricultural powerhouse,consolidating foundation of food security,promoting national modernization and ecological civilization construction,and clarifies the goals of high-quality development and tasks of water-saving irrigation in the new era.Measures are proposed to improve policy systems,strengthen dual efforts,enhance management and services,and strengthen technical innovation.
