In the history of poetics,Chen Yongguang's role has been obscured.He critically accepted the ideas of Yao Nai and Weng Fanggang,enriching the poetic system of Tongcheng Poetry School.He promoted and developed the school of Tongcheng Poetry in his interactions with other poets in the Capital,and promoted the participation of Tongcheng Poetry School in the construction of the poetic style of the Song Dynasty in the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods.At the same time,Chen Yongguang wrote poems and articles to preach ideas and doctrines succeeded from his teachers and his family,greatly expanding the influence of Tongcheng Poetry School.He once acquired the power to write history,and started the writing of the history of Tongcheng Poetry School.In the process of inheritance and development,Chen Yongguang deserves to be deemed as one of the leading figures of Tongcheng Poetry School.
