学术文本中的特征性it评价型式与意义--基于语料库的法学和医学学术文本对比分析

Characteristic Evaluative it Patterns and Meanings in Academic Papers-—A Corpus-based Comparative Study of Academic Papers of Science of Law and Medical Science

it评价型式是学术文本中重要的评价资源,也是近年的研究热点。本研究以评价的局部语法理论为指导,基于英国学术英语语料库,描述it评价型式在作为生命科学的医学学术文本和作为人文科学的法学学术文本中的使用。数据显示,两个学科共享4个高频的特征性it评价型式:it v-link ADJ.to、it v-link ADJ.that、it v-link ADJ.for n.to和it v-link ADJ.wh-。概括来说,医学文本使用it评价型式的频率远远小于法学文本,且集中在重要性这一特征性意义上,法学文本则聚焦或然性和难易度两个特征性意义。

Evaluative it patterns,important evaluative resources in academic papers,have been a hot topic for years.Guided by the theory of Local Grammar of Evaluation,this paper,basing on the evidence from British Academic Written English,describes the usage of evaluative it patterns in academic papers of both medical science,as a part of life science,and the science of law,as a part of the humanities.The data show that academic papers of two disciples share four characteristic evaluative it patterns:it v-link ADJ.to,it v-link ADJ.that,it v-link ADJ.for n.to and it v-link ADJ.wh-.Generally speaking,academic papers of medical science use much less evaluative it patterns and tend to express semantics of importance;while academic papers of law science focus on the semantics of both likelihood and difficulty.
