决明子是豆科植物决明或小决明的干燥成熟种子,味苦、甘、咸,性微寒,常用于目赤肿痛、羞明多泪、青盲内障等症的治疗.其含有多种生物活性成分,包括蒽醌类、萘并吡喃酮、多糖、蛋白质等多种抗氧化活性成分,具有抗炎抗氧化,抗细胞凋亡,维持眼部细胞表面离子平衡,降血糖,降眼内压的特性,这使其成为防治眼部疾病的潜在选择.本文阐述了决明子在眼部疾病中的应用,包括青光眼、白内障、糖尿病眼病及近视,并说明了决明子及其生物活性物质对各种眼科疾病治疗的潜在可行性.

Cassia seeds are dried and mature seeds of legume Cassia or small Cassia,taste bitter,sweet,salty,slightly cold in nature.It is commonly used in the treatment of red eyes,swelling and pain,embarrassment and tears,glaucoma,and cataracts.It contains a variety of biologically active ingredients,including anthraquinones,naphthopyrones,polysaccharides,proteins and other antioxidants.It has the properties of anti-inflammatory,anti-oxidation,anti-apoptosis,maintaining ion balance on the surface of eye cells,lowering blood sugar,and lowering intraocular pressure,which makes it a potential choice for the prevention and treatment of eye diseases.This article describes the application of cassia seeds in ocular diseases,including glaucoma,cataract,diabetes ophthalmopathy and myopia,and illustrates the potential feasibility of cassia seeds and their bioactive substances in the treatment of various ophthalmic diseases.
