Searching for a Place to Belong:Analyzing the Social Function of the Folk Custom “Establishing Nominal Kinship” in Liupanshan Region

中国各民族交往交流交融由点及面的扩散,是社会发展的必由之路,也是推动中华民族共同体建设的重要途径。“认干亲”作为六盘山区域的一种民俗传统,不仅是当地拟亲属制度的主要内容,也反映了“认干亲”的个体之间、家庭之间的交往方式和生活方式,构建了“认干亲”主体间的共有之家。本文通过对六盘山地区海原县“认干亲”习俗基础上形成的大“家”深蕴的责权之约及其社会效果进行深入分析,挖掘促进民族团结一家亲的共同行为规范和社会结合秩序,探究家国文化价值观与中华民族共同体建设之间的内在联系,为构筑中华民族共有精神家园和铸牢中华民族共同体意识提供了一个微观思考视角。

The expansion in scale of exchanges and interactions among different ethnic groups in China is essential for Chinese society to develop,and is crucial for promoting the construction of a community for the Chinese nation. “Establishing nominal kinship”(or as“ren ganqin”) is a folk custom in Liupanshan region;it not only is the major part of local fictive kinship,but also demonstrates the interaction and way of life between individuals and families with “nominal kinship ”,and hence constructs a common home for individuals with “nominal kinship.”This article analyzes in depth the responsibilities and rights embedded in the big “family” formed through the folk custom of “nominal kinship”in Haiyuan County,Liupanshan Area,and the social effects this folk custom. The purpose of this article is to establish common codes of conduct and social integration to support the“ethnic unity campaign”and investigate the relationship between the cultural value of national pride and the formation of a community for the Chinese nation. This will offer a microcosmic perspective on the development of a sense of belonging for the Chinese nation and the construction of a national community.
