Fluid Space:A Study on the Spatial Practice of Elderly People Living Alone in the Age of Intelligent Media

智能媒体时代信息技术的发展,使传播研究过于关注虚拟网络空间层面的媒介传输与青年数字群体,却忽略了其背后的情感性和价值性空间及独居老年群体的媒介使用情况及影响。以广东地区城乡接合部独居老年群体智能手机的使用为例,课题组对广州、茂名、清远等市区进行实地田野调研,通过深度访谈和问卷调查相结合的方法,探讨了智能手机作为媒介如何展现情感空间、意义空间和价值空间三个空间的流动与传输。独居的老年群体与智能媒介所建构的流动关系凸显智能时代下空间实践的表征与内在机理,并影响着独居老年群体情感空间、意义空间与价值空间系统的建构与维持。

The development of information technology in the era of intelligent media has made communication research pay too much attention to media transmission and youth digital groups at the level of virtual network space,but ignore the emotional and value space behind it and the media usage and influence of elderly groups living alone.Taking the use of smart phones in the elderly living alone in the urban-rural area of Guangdong as an example,the research group conducted field research in Guangzhou,Maoming,Qingyuan and other urban areas,and explored how smart phones as a medium show the flow and transmission of emotional space,meaning space and value space through a combination of in-depth interviews and questionnaire surveys.The flow relationship between the elderly living alone and the intelligent medium highlights the representation and inner nature of spatial practice in the intelligent era,and affects the establishment and maintenance of the emotional space,meaning space and value space system of the elderly living alone.
