Development Stages of Local Chronicles in Song Dynasties

宋代是学界普遍认为的方志初步定型时期。官方确定的文化形式由宋初的图经转变到图志,再转变成方志,其发展过程极为曲折,涉及社会阶级力量对比、时代文化背景、思想学术传承、方志编纂目的变化等社会各方面综合因素。本文试图通过对两宋期间方志各发展阶段,即准备期、突破期、融合期、定型期等四个时期的定性分析,系统探讨方志的成型轨迹。

The Song dynasties are generally considered by the academic circles as the initial finalization stage of local chronicles.The fficially determined cultural form changed from map-oriented records in the early Song dynasties to pic-ture-text records,and then into local chronides.The development process is full of twists and turns,involving multiple so-cial factors,such as the balance of power among different social classes,the cultural backgrounds of the times,the ideolog-ical and acadermic succession,and the changes in the purpose of compiling local chronicles.This article tries to systemati-cally discuss the formation trajectory of local chronicles through a qual itative analysis of the preparation,breakthrough,inte-gration,and finalization stages of chronicle development during the two Song dynasties.
