The history of natural disasters is a key topic in the studies of social history in modern times.It often has close ties wih politics,economy and social life.In 1924,a huge fire broke out at the Shanghai X iangjing Textile Factory,killing nearly a hundred people.After the disaster broke out,social groups,philanthropists,news media and other social forces responded quickly and carried out various forms of relief to help the victims.It made up for the weak side of govern-ments disaster relief,helped maintain social stability,promoted the development of modernization,and project positive en-ergy.
