A Review and Prospect of the Development of Modern Chinese in 100 Years

从“大汉语”的角度考察汉语百年的发展历程,可以发现存在普通话、台港澳国语与海外华语三条发展线索,今后会在趋同与存异这两个趋势下进一步发展。趋同即为“融合”,结果是造成各地的差异成分不断减少、共同部分不断增加;存异则是各个变体在趋同发展的同时,会在一定程度上保持独有个性,维护其作为“变体”的基本特征。新的百年现代汉语的研究首先应解决“做什么”与“怎样做”的问题,要在研究观念的更新发展与研究内容的拓展加深两方面做出更多、更大的努力。

Viewing the development of Chinese in the past century from the perspective of“greater Chinese”:Here are three development clues:Putonghua,Mandarin from Taiwan,Hong Kong,Macao and Overseas Huayu,which will further develop under the two trends of advolution and Maintaining differences in the future.The former is called“integration”,and the result is that the differences between different regions are decreasing and the common parts are increasing;The latter is that each variant will maintain its unique personality and maintain its basic characteristics as a“variant”while converging and developing.The research of modern Chinese in the new century should first solve the problems of“what to do”and“how to do”,specifically,the renewal and development of research concepts,and the expansion and deepening of research content.
