Mao Zedong’s Thoughts on Vocational Education and Its Practical Enlightenments

Mao Zedong’s thought on vocational education consists of multiple conceptions including the functional view of vocational education which serves Chinese revolution and construction,the school-running pattern of vocational education by combining education and productive labor,the ideological political educational view of vocational education which enlightens students’minds,and the teachers'outlook of vocational education that links theory with practice.Mao Zedong’s thoughts on vocational education,directed by Marxist Theory,is characterized distinctively by being people-oriented and its adaptability.Through summarizing the regularities contained in Mao Zedong’s thoughts on vocational education,proposing the re-consideration of vocational education in the process of Chinese-style modernization in the new era,implementing the fundamental task of establishing moral education,and strengthening the adaptability of vocational education,a modern school-running mode will be formed,which is achieved by the integration of industry and education,the cooperation of school and enterprise,and the integration of science and education.
