转喻的制约因素对研究生英语阅读的启示

摘要 转喻是人类基本的思维方式,是一种在概念层面操作的认知机制。转喻的识解受人的主观性、认知语境和社会文化等因素的制约。为了提升在英文阅读中的转喻能力,研究生需要从以下几个方面着手:提升认知能力,主动积累语言知识;根据认知语境把握篇章结构;拓展文化背景知识。培养研究生的转喻能力可为他们未来的学习和研究打下良好基础。 Metonymy is one of the basic human thinking patterns and a cognitive mechanism operating at the conceptual level.The interpretation of metonymy is restricted by human subjectivity,cognitive context and social culture.In order to improve the ability of recognizing and interpreting metonymy in English reading,postgraduates need to start from the following aspects:improving cognitive ability and actively accumulating language knowledge;grasping the text structure according to the cognitive context;and expanding cultural backgrounds.Cultivating postgraduates'metonymy ability can lay a good foundation for their future study and research.
