Pericoronary adipose tissue and coronary atherosclerosis

冠状动脉周围脂肪(pericoronary adipose tissue,PCAT)是心外膜脂肪的一部分,毗邻冠状动脉,PCAT与冠状动脉及周围的心肌之间缺乏筋膜层的间隔,共享相同的微循环,因此PCAT据其特殊的位置在冠状动脉粥样硬化的病理生理过程中扮演着尤为重要的角色。研究表明,PCAT和冠状动脉之间的信号传导是双向的,PCAT释放一组维持血管稳态的脂肪因子和细胞因子,这些因子的异常分泌可能会促进炎症和血管生成,进而干预冠状动脉粥样硬化的进展。本综述将重点介绍PCAT调节冠状动脉粥样硬化发展过程中的作用及相关的研究进展。

Pericoronary adipose tissue(PCAT)is a part of epicardial adipose tissue(EAT)that directly neighbors coronary arteries.PCAT is not separated from the myocardium and vessels by fascia,which means that they share the same microcirculation.Therefore,PCAT has been reported to play an essential role in physiological and pathophysiological processes of coronary arteries according to its special location.It has been suggested that signaling between PCAT and coronary arteries is bidirectional.PCAT releases a panel of adipokines and cytokines that maintain vascular homeostasis,otherwise abnormal secretion of them may be primed to promote inflammation and angiogenesis.Therefore,PCAT has the ability of intervention in progression of the coronary atherosclerosis.This review will highlight the role of PCAT in regulating the progression of the coronary atherosclerosis and related research results.
