AIM To study the chemical constituents from the seeds of Firmiana simplex(L.)W.Wight and their procoagulant activities in vitro.METHODS The 85%ethanol extract from the seeds of F.simplex was isolated and purified by macroporous adsorption resin, silica gel,MCI,ODS,Sephadex LH-20 and Toyopearl HW-40F gel column chromatography, then the structures of obtained compounds were identified by physical and chemical properties and spectral data.Their procoagulant activities were evaluated the four-item coagulation kit in vitro.RESULTS Eighteen compounds were isolated and identified.Compounds 1-5,7-8,10-11,13 demonstrated procoagulant effects.CONCLUSION Compounds 2-7,9-11,13-17 were isolated from genus Firmiana for the first time.Compound 12 was isolated from this plant for the first time.Compounds 2-3 show excellent procoagulant activities, which were comparable to Yunnan Baiyao, compounds 1,5,8,10 show good procoagulant activities, and compounds 4,7,11,13 show certain procoagulant activities.
