Dexamethasone(Dexa)is a steroid receptor agonist and has fair analgesic action.Dexa not only prevents and treats post-operative nausea,vomiting(PONV)and chills,suppresses inflammation and enhances recovery after surgery,but also can be used as an adjuvant to peripheral nerve blocks,and increases the duration of nerve block and post-operative analgesia.
