On Political Identification with the Central Dynasty in the Compilation of Tibetan Family Histories during the Ming Dynasty

明代藏文家族史最主要编纂旨趣是抬高家族地位,很重要的编纂方式是撰写家族历史和著名人物与中央王朝之间的关系。家族史与世系史的作者在当时社会身份非常特殊,有的是西藏地方政权的首领人物,也有的是家族族长或大学者,他们所表述的思想,是当时藏族社会政治意识的直接体现,这就有力证明了当时西藏地方对于中央的政治认同与归属。从家族史撰写与社会政治之间的互动关系去揭示民族交往交流交融的深层内涵,有利于挖掘出深化于内容之中的精神实质,对于铸牢中华民族共同体意识具有重要意义。

The main purpose of compiling family histories in Tibet during the Ming dynasty was to elevate the sta⁃tus of the families,and a very important way of compiling them was to write about the relation of family histories and some famous figures with the central dynasties.The authors of the family histories and lineage histories had very special social identities at the time,some of them were leaders of local Tibetan authorities,some were family patriarchs or great scholars,and the ideas they expressed were a direct reflection of the political consciousness of Tibetan society at the time,which are strong evidence of the local Tibetans'political identification and affiliation with the central government then.The family histories and the social and political interaction reveals the deeper connotations of interactions and exchanges between ethnic groups,which is conducive to uncovering the spiritual essence of the content and is of great significance in forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
