The American progressive era runs from the end of 19th century till the first two decades of the 20th century.The era witnessed a large quantity of reforms from the fields of national economy,national and local politics,city management and social welfare,etc.All these reforms joined together in forming the momentous Progressive movement.The aim of the Progressive movement was to free the nation from the control of business elites and special interest groups,to return political rights to citizens,and to meliorate the life of the general.The progressive achievements transformed the Jeffersonian parochial America into a modern state of the industrial age.The progressive legacy also left a lasting influence on the 20th century American politics.
