The social features and historical changes of the Tujia-inhabited area in the Wuling Mountains reflected in the Tusi literature are a microcosm of the social development and changes during the Tusi period of the ethnic minorities in southwest China, whose ideological and cultural connotations such as the national consciousness,Chinese cultural identity, patriotism as well as openness and inclusiveness find full expression in such literature, providing a historical basis for interpreting the harmonious ethnic relations in the Tujia-inhabited area of the Wuling Mountains as well as powerful examples of how the Tujia and other ethnic groups of China jointly expanded their territory, wrote their history, created their culture and cultivated their spirit together. The sense of the Chinese nation as one United community in such literature embodies its epochal significance, and reveals the historical development and evolutionary logic of the integration of the Tujia-inhabited area and even the southwest minority areas into China as a unified country with diverse features during the Tusi period, which as a new discovery in the study of the culture of the Tujia ethnic group will help all ethnic groups to promote the practical enhancement of the sense of the Chinese nation as one united community in the construction of the Chinese-style modernization.
