In order to solve the main problems existing in the layout and planning of ordinary arterial highways in China at the present stage,such as the need to improve the hierarchical structure,the unreasonable distribution of road network structure,and the need to strengthen the connection between important nodes,this paper sorts out the important role of ordinary arterial highways,and puts forward the layout planning points of ordinary arterial highways in combination with the current situation of ordinary arterial highway layout planning,in order to ensure the reliable operation of ordinary arterial highways and promote the sustainable development of China's highway industry.
