莱州草辫

Laizhou Grass Braiding

草辫,是民间广泛流行的一种手工技艺,其利用各地所产的草,就地取材,编成各种生活用品,如提篮、果盒、杯套、盆垫、帽子、拖鞋和枕席等。有的利用事先染有各种彩色的草,编织各种图案,有的则编好后加印装饰纹样。既经济实用,又美观大方。2008年,莱州草辫技艺被列入第二批国家级非物质文化遗产名录。《莱州史志》记载,掖县(今莱州)沙河草辫已有上千年历史,而草辫从明代经直隶、豫州等地在国内渐渐传播。

Grass braiding is a popularfolk handicraft,with which people turning the local grass materials into various articles Gfor daily use,such as baskets,fruit boxes,cup covers,basin mats,hats,slippers,and pillow mats.Some articles are made with different patterns braided into by using pre-dyed colorful grass while others are produced by adding decorative patterns to the braided products.
