The Knowledge Production about Turkey in the 16th Century Germanic Context

德意志与穆斯林世界的接触已经绵延了几个世纪。欧洲视域下有关土耳其的观念存在多样性,是一个历史演化的过程。16世纪德意志人对土耳其的关注出现了一个爆发期。本文主要讨论16世纪德意志语境下关于土耳其认知的知识来源,梳理了德意志人获取关于土耳其信息的各种渠道。借助量化工具从长时段上对德语出版物数据库进行检索,了解土耳其相关知识的动态变化过程。作者认为,在战争威胁的语境下形成的土耳其印象存在问题。关于土耳其的形象建构问题,值得我们持续关注,并协助我们从历史语境进入现实关怀。

The contact between the Germans and the Muslim world has stretched over several centuries.The diverse perceptions about Turkey in the European context underwent historical evolution,and in the 16th century there was an explosion of interests about Turkey in Germany.This paper focuses on the sources of knowledge about Turkey in the Germanic context in the 16th century,and it compares the various channels through which Germans obtained information about Turkey.A search of the database of German-language publications over a long period of time is conducted with the help of quantitative tools to understand the dynamic process of knowledge production about Turkey.This paper argues that there areproblems with the impressions of Turkey formed under the circumstances of war threat.The Germanic image construction of Turkey deserves our continuous attention and assists us in moving from the historical context to realistic concerns.
