从外宣翻译视角下看医疗机构的公示语英文译写——以新乡市3家医院的公示语为例

作为外宣翻译的文本之一,国内公示语的误译现象比比皆是.医疗机构的公示语译写,是医院对外形象和人文环境的重要体现.文章以新乡市3家医疗机构的公示语译例为研究对象,参照《公共服务领域英文译写规范》中的译写标准和示例,剖析公示语英文译写存在的问题,并提出改进建议.

As one of the texts for international publicity translation,the English public signs in China have been widely criticized for mistranslations.The public signs in a medical institution are a key component of its image and culture.The paper focuses on the English public signs of three hospitals in Xinxiang as the object of research.The general rules and the recommended translations from Guidelines for the Use of English in Public Service Areas will be used as the reference for testing the accuracy of the translations of public signs.The paper analyses different kinds of mistranslations and puts forward reasons and recommended solutions for improving the translation of public signs in medical institutions.
