原味儿莎还是傅味儿莎?——傅光明新译《哈姆雷特》的得与失

摘要 傅光明译《哈姆雷特》是莎翁最为伟大也是最具特色的悲剧Hamlet的最新译本。傅译整体翻译策略上以诗体译诗,散体译散为其译本主要文体特征。匠心独运之下,其译笔用心尽力,文字通畅、意象突出,再配以详略得当的注释和内容丰富的导读,译本独具傅氏莎味特色而自成一家。但与以往的莎译作品同样摆脱不了的是,傅译仍在遣字用词和文字游戏翻译等方面有不少瑕疵与疏漏等不足,其中尤以双关语在译文中的缺项最为遗憾,仅此一点便离原味莎还存在着一定的距离。 s:Fu Guangming presents a new Chinese translation of Hamlet,one of Shakespeare’s greatest dramas.This version,rendering predominantly the original prose with prose and original verse with verse,is characteristic of Fu’s skillful treatment of the original text.Not only is Fu’s style expressive and smooth,it is further enhanced by a detailed introduction,the use of well-transferred images and rich annotations.His translation of Hamlet,however,would perhaps benefit from some improvement in terms of diction and the way in which Shakespeare’s word play is expressed.For example,puns,which abound in the original play,are somewhat lost in Fu’s translation.Suffice it to say that,despite Fu’s undoubted expertise,his Hamlet is still a little lost in translation.
