The Imperial Compilation of Poetic Inscriptions of All Dynasties was a voluminous poetry book printed for the imperial court by officials in the 46th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign(1707).Since the middle of the 18th century, the book has been widely circulated in East Asia, especially in Japan.Records about the book's import into Japan via Nagasaki in the 18th and 19th centuries show the interest of Japanese society in the Qing imperial books in the mid-to-late Edo period. The Nagasaki auction prices of the book reveal more details about the spread of the book. The number of Japanese engraved copies and the development of the book's publishers reflected the characteristics and changes of Edo's Chinese publishing industry.
