Portulaca oleracea L.(Purslane)is an annual herb that can be used as both medicine and food,and is mostly wild.It has a sour taste,cold nature,and belongs to the liver and large intestine me-ridians.Purslane has the functions of clearing heat and detoxifying the body,cooling blood,stopping bleeding and stopping dysentery.Modern studies have shown that purslane contains flavonoids,alka-loids,coumarins,organic acids,polysaccharides and other components.It has various activities such as anti-inflammatory,antioxidant,lipid lowering,uric acid lowering,antifungal and anti-tumor.It is often used in medicine,health foods,cosmetics and other fields.By studying the literatures at home and abroad in recent years,the latest research on chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of purs-lane was summarized,and its development prospects was prospected,in order to provide reference for the further study and application of purslane.
