爱国主义是具体的、现实的。在当代中国,爱国主义的本质就是坚持爱国和爱党、爱社会主义高度统一。爱国和爱党、爱社会主义的统一,依循于马克思主义爱国观,根植于中华民族独特的历史文化与社会结构,确证于当代中国实现的社会变革与取得的历史成就。今天,我们爱的“国”是中国共产党领导的社会主义中国,中国共产党是爱国主义精神最坚定的弘扬者和实践者,爱国主义与社会主义在当代中国具有本质的一致性,爱国爱党爱社会主义统一于实现中华民族伟大复兴的历史进程。新时代加强爱国主义教育、弘扬爱国主义精神,要以史共情,以文化人,增强爱国爱党爱社会主义的历史自觉和文化自觉;要高举旗帜、踔厉奋发,引导爱国爱党爱社会主义的情感表达和实干担当;要胸怀世界,面向未来,拓展爱国和爱党、爱社会主义的国际视野和人类情怀。
