Do Open Access Books Have Citation Advantages?

为了解OA出版对图书相关引证指标的影响,分析OA图书与非OA图书是否存在统计学意义上显著差异,文章选取BKCI收录的OA和非OA图书,统计二者在纵向时间序列下相关引证指标(被引频次、首次被引时间、被引峰值),比较二者相关引证指标的异同。研究发现:OA对图书引用优势的提升取决于“有效引用寿命”(effective citation life-time),OA引用优势可以通过可发现性、可获得性及可复用性等原因予以解释,也受到关键词数量、图书出版国等多种因素的影响。

In order to understand the impact of OA publication on citation indexes,this paper analyzes whether there is a statistically significant difference between OA and non-OA books.The citation indexes(citation frequency,first citation time,and citation peak)of OA and non-OA books included in BKCI were measured in a longitudinal time series to compare the similarities and differences of the citation indexes between them.The results show the increase of OA citation advantage for books depends on the effective citation life-time;which can be explained by discoverability,accessibility and reusability.The advantage is also influenced by various factors such as the number of keywords and the country of publication.
