TCM master Xiao Chengzong’s clinical experience and proven cases in preventing and treating habitual miscarriages

Recurrent spontaneous abortion refers to 3 or more consecutive spontaneous miscarriages with the same sexual partner.It belongs to“habitual miscarriages”in traditional Chinese medicine,and is also known as“repeated pregnancies and miscarriages”or“recurrent abortions”.Professor Xiao Chengzong believes that habitual miscarriages are mainly associated with deficiency of the kidney and unconsolidation of the Thoroughfare Vessel and Conception Meridian.Reinforcing the kidney to prevent miscarriages is an important method that Professor Xiao uses to treat habitual miscarriages.In addition,Professor Xiao created an empirical formula,i.e.,Gushen Antai Beverage(固肾安胎饮).In clinical practice,she has noticed that the kidney governs reproduction and is the root of the Thoroughfare Vessel and Conception Meridian,and has formed a complete set of sequential therapies,i.e,pre-pregnancy intervention and miscarriage prevention after pregnancy,prevention before disease onset and soothing the liver to relieve Qi stagnation throughout the treatment.Professor Xiao’s diagnosis and treatment ideas for preventing and treating habitual miscarriages and medication experience are introduced in combination with clinical cases.
