The enhancement of the consciousness of the community of the Chinese nation is the mainstay of the ethnic work in the new era,and also a key topic of ethnic studies.With the enhancement of the consciousness of the community of the Chinese nation as the mainstay,Cangyuang County in Yunnan province has explored and implemented a model centered on“nurturing a spiritual homeland,constructing a beautiful homeland,protecting the unity of all ethnic groups,safeguarding our holy motherland and enjoying a shared happy life”.The Cangyuang Model as a typical case has rich implications of historical rationality and practical logic as well as much enlightening significance all over China.The paper aims to summarize its practical experience in innovation,and to provide its wisdom as the result of the construction of an exemplary case of our ethnic unity in the ethnic borderland of China in the process of enhancing the consciousness of the community of the Chinese nation.
