多模态语境隐喻的话语建构研究

A Study on the Discursive Construction of Multimodal Contextual Metaphor

语境隐喻是指以一种语类象征另一种语类的现象。本文尝试在系统功能语言学框架下建立多模态语境隐喻的四维分析模型,并以政治漫画为例验证该模型,讨论多模态语境隐喻的形成机制。研究发现,有六种语义对应策略体现表层语类和象征语类,包括表征意义的双重赋义、虚拟对应、象征对应、评价意义迁移、互动意义映射以及寄生构图。表层语类的语域配置有典型的语式,但语类结构有缺失;象征语类的语域配置往往没有典型的语式,但语类结构呈现是完整的。多模态语境隐喻糅合了两种语类的部分特征,体现了意义的复合,拓展了意义潜势。

Contextual metaphor refers to the phenomen on where one genresymbolizes another. This study examines multimodal contextual metaphor and attempts to develop a four-dimensional analytical frame work underpinned by Systemic Functional Linguistics.A political cartoon is then analyzed to verify the frame work as well as to look in to the mechanism of multimodal contextual metaphor.It is found that the six meaning-corresponding strategies, including double-coding, imitating and symbolizing representational meaning, appraisal transfer, interactional mapping, and compositional parasitizing, facilitate the realization of a surface genre and a symbolized genre. The surface genre is characterized by a typical mode, whose generic structure is not completely presented, while the symbolized one features an untypical mode, whose generic structure is fully presented. A multimodal contextual metaphor blends features of both the surface genre and the symbolized genre, which further expands the meaning potential.
