摘要
本文结合客观的图标信息量与主观的感知复杂度,作为图标复杂度的量化依据,采用眼动追踪技术,探讨图标复杂度对图标搜索绩效的影响研究。首先,提出了结合信息量计算与感知复杂度系数的图标信息复杂度计算方法;然后,以旋挖钻典型图标集为材料,开展搜索任务眼动实验。研究发现:(1)图标复杂度对工程机械操作环境下的认知绩效影响显著;(2)图标信息量与搜索绩效存在倒U型关系;(3)感知复杂度与搜索绩效存在负相关线性关系;(4)图标识别的正确率主要受语义辨识细节影响。本工作为图标设计提供了量化研究的理论依据,特别是为图标设计的标准量化提供了可能的途径。
In this study,we combine the amount of pictorial information conveyed by an icon with the perceived complexity as the quantitative approach for icon complexity.Using eye-tracking technology,empirical research is carried out to determine the effect of icon complexity on search performance with construction machinery interface icons.First,a method to evaluate icon information complexity that combines the amount of pictorial information with a coefficient of the perceived complexity is proposed.Then,using a typical set of icons for a rotary drilling rig as the stimuli,we carried out the eye movement experiment of the search tasks.The findings show that:1)the complexity of an icon has a significant impact on search performance when operating construction machinery;2)there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the amount of pictorial information in an icon and search performance;3)there is a negative linear relationship between perceptual complexity and search performance,and 4)the accuracy of icon recognition is mainly influenced by recognizing the semantic details of the icons.This work provides a theoretical basis for quantitative research work on designing icons,and in particular,provides a possible means for the standard quantification of icon designs.
