Progress,challenges and responses to the construction of the New Eurasian Bridge Economic Corridor

在“一带一路”六大经济走廊中,新亚欧大陆桥经济走廊是直接联系中国和欧洲的唯一一条走廊。近年来,新亚欧大陆桥经济走廊建设取得了突出成就,中国与俄罗斯和欧亚经济联盟的政策沟通程度不断提高,中欧班列在中欧贸易中的地位日益提高,中国与沿线国家在贸易、投资和产业领域的合作持续深化。但走廊建设也面临不容忽视的挑战:地缘政治挑战更趋严峻,制裁挑战笼罩中国与俄白两国贸易,经济挑战主要体现为滞涨和转型困境,债务挑战在沿线中低收入国家中表现突出。为更好推进走廊建设,我们需要与沿线国家深化政策沟通和人文交流合作,完善欧亚互联互通网络,扩大贸易投资规模,有针对性地开展产业和科技领域合作,完善金融合作机制,扩大人民币结算覆盖范围,加强全球治理协调,推动公共卫生、应对气候变化等领域的合作。

Among the six major economic corridors of the“Belt and Road”,the New Eurasian Bridge Economic Corridor is the only corridor that directly connects China and Europe.In recent years,outstanding achievements have been made in the construction of the New Eurasian Bridge Economic Corridor,the degree of policy communication between China and Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union has been continuously improved,the status of Chins Railway Express in China-EU trade has been increasing,and cooperation between China and countries along the route in the fields of trade,investment and industry has continued to deepen.However,the corridor construction also faces challenges that cannot be ignored:geopolitical challenges run through the entire route,sanctions challenges envelop China’s trade with Russia and Belarus,economic challenges are mainly reflected in stagflation and transition difficulties,and debt challenges are prominent among low and middle income countries along the route.In order to better promote the construction of the corridor,we need to deepen policy communication and people-to-people exchanges and cooperation with countries along the route,improve the Eurasian connectivity network,expand the scale of trade and investment,carry out targeted cooperation in the fields of industry and science and technology,improve the financial cooperation mechanism,expand the coverage of RMB settlement,strengthen global governance coordination,and promote cooperation in public health and climate change.
