The Trend of China-US Relations in the Changes of a Century

百年变局是指20世纪90年代以来,由全球化深度发展所推动,以和平发展为主轴,从“扭曲的全球化”到“真正的全球化”的总体结构之变。美国改变对华战略,违逆世界大势,目的在于遏制中国发展、维护自身霸权。由于在时代认知、对象把握、目标设定和手段运用上的原则错误和根本缺陷,美对华遏制战略是不可能成功的。在未来相当长一段时间内,美国还将保持自己的全球优势地位。在这些优势丧失之前,它的霸权行径是不会停止的。对此,我们要在顺百年变局大势、奔百年目标前程的基础上,沉着应对中美分歧,把握战略主动,坚持合作共赢,努力构建中美新型大国关系。

The momentous changes unseen in a century refer to the overall structural changes from“distorted globalization”to“true globalization”with peaceful development as the axis and driven by the deep development of globalization since the 1990s.The US has changed its strategy towards China against global trend for containing China’s development and maintaining its own hegemony.Due to principle errors and fundamental flaws in understanding the times,mastering the object,setting goals and adopting means,the containment strategy against China is unlikely to succeed.For a relatively long period of time in the future,the US will continue to maintain its global dominant position.Until the advantages are lost,its hegemonic behavior will not stop.Accordingly,based on following the trend of changes unseen in a century and pursuing the century goals,we need to calmly deal with the differences between China and the US,grasp the strategic initiative,adhere to mutually beneficial cooperation,and strive to build a new type of major country relationship with the US.
