新发展格局下体育消费如何影响城市经济发展--基于江苏省重点城市面板数据的实证分析

How Sports Consumption Impact the Development of Cities Under the New Development Paradigm--Emprical Analysis Based on the Panel Data of Jiangsu Province

基于2017—2021年江苏体育消费调查的城市面板数据,对体育消费是如何推动城市经济增长的机理展开实证研究。结果显示:(1)江苏省城市体育消费水平有效推动了城市经济增长,并呈现出显著的区域异质性,苏南地区体育消费推动经济的增长较为显著,苏中、苏北地区增长效应偏弱,应充分发挥体育消费试点城市作用带动区域协同发展;(2)回归结果的总体稳定体现出体育消费具有较强的消费韧性,实物型体育消费基础面较好,服务型体育消费有较大增长空间;(3)社会资本在体育消费促进经济发展的过程中起到部分中介作用,具备“体育消费—社会资本—经济发展”这一经济传导机制;(4)体育公共支出一定程度上减弱了体育消费对于经济增长的促进作用。基于此,在促进消费提质扩容、发挥体育社会功能、打造体育新空间等方面提出了若干政策建议,以期使体育消费的高质量发展带动城市乃至区域经济社会发展。

Based on urban panel data from the 2017—2021 Jiangsu Sports Consumption Survey,an empirical study was conducted on the economic mechanism of how sports consumption drives urban economic growth.The findings show that(1)The level of urban sports consumption in Jiangsu province effectively drives urban economic growth and shows significant regional heterogeneity,with the role of sports consumption in driving economic development being more significant in southern Jiangsu.Sports Consumption Pilot Cities should play a bigger role in promoting collaborative development among different regions.(2)The COVID-19 epidemic suppressed the economic driving effect of sports consumption to a certain extent,but the regression results were generally stable,reflecting the strong consumption resilience of sports consumption.Consumption on sports products is relatively strong while there is huge potential for consumption on sports services.(3)Social capital plays a partially mediating role in the process of sports consumption promoting economic development,with the economic transmission mechanism of“sports consumption-social capital-economic development”.(4)Public spending on sports has to some extent squeezed out the role of sports consumption in promoting economic growth.Based on the above findings,a number of policy recommendations are made,including promoting the quality and capacity of consumption,unleashing the social function of sports and creating a new space for sports.The high-quality development of sports consumption will subsequentially result in urban and reginal development of ecocnomy and society.
