The opening up of the bond market is an important component in solidifying improvements in thefinancial market,promoting the development of thereal economy,furthering the Belt and Road Initiative,andleveraging the efforts to internationalize the renminbi.This study examines efforts to open up bond marketsin other economies and attempts to address the questions of how bond market liberalization can promote RMBinternationalization and set the stage for the next phase of bond market opening.
