Bharati Mukherjee is an influential Indian woman writer in the American minority literary world.Her representative work Jasmine tells the migration process of Jasmine,the protagonist,from India to the United States.Jasmine seems to be a story about the heroine's name,however,it reflects the heroine's belief in reshaping herself in the new environment written by and for feminist travel discourse.From the transformation of time and space in travel writing and the spiritual experience caused by the traspormation,the paper will expound the journy of the protagonist's realization of the female subject construction by discussing the feminism in travel writing,analyzing the female identity construction in the transformation of time and space mobility and the embodiment of the mobile identity construction in the change of the protagonist's name.
