尼日利亚舞蹈研究

DANCE IN NIGERIA

尼日利亚是众多传统文化的综合体,其一百多种不同的语言,就体现了该国家的文化多样性。大多数传统文化,为了满足现代教育和技术需求,正在进行转变。如今,尼日利亚的舞蹈在三个世界中发挥着重要作用:传统世界、新传统世界和当代世界,这三个世界在研究目标上有明显的区别,但实际上又是相互联系的。本文主要讨论了尼日利亚传统舞蹈的显性功能、形式、记录和分析,这主要基于我对尼日利亚舞蹈在传统社会中所起作用的观察。

Nigeria is a composite of a large number of traditional cultures.The fact that there are over one hundred different spoken languages gives some indication of the cultural diversity of the country.The majority of these cultures are in a state of transition between the traditions of their ancestors and the educational and technological demands of modern life.Dance in Nigeria today functions in three worlds which may be clearly differentiated for study purposes but do in fact merge:the traditional world,the neo-traditional world,and the contemporary world.The present paper is a discussion of the main overt functions,the form,and the recording and analysis of traditional Nigerian dance.It is based on my own observations of the role played by dance in traditional societies in Nigeria.
