Chinese Path to Modernization:A New Paradigm for Chinese Overseas Studies

论文对“中国式现代化”进行了解读,阐述了作为一个特殊群体的华侨华人的独特性质,探讨了在“中国式现代化”背景下,华侨华人研究的新范式。“中国式现代化”内外兼修的视野,要求华侨华人研究一定要具有全面、系统和均衡的视角。一方面,需要在祖籍地中国和住在国之间有一定的均衡,过分强调任何一地,都可能会失去对华侨华人这个分布于全球的群体的客观理解;另一方面,“中国式现代化”也是个系统工程,现代化进程既涉及政治经济,也包含社会文化;既需要本土稳定,也兼顾世界和平,所以对华侨华人的研究,一定要有多学科和跨学科的视野。

Chinese path to modernization has been complicated in both national and transnational senses,thus is of theoretical significance to give directions for social sciences research on modern China.Distinguished by“Chineseness”,“locality”and“transnationalism”,the Chinese overseas participated in and witnessed the process of modernization in both China and their countries of residence,meanwhile building connections between them,resulting in a global network of modernization.This article proposes that the“Chinese path to modernization”may be a new paradigm to apply on overseas Chinese studies.
