摘要
国内学术英语课程需求分析主要为学生需求分析,较少关注师生之间对学术英语技能的需求与评价是否存在差异。研究以目标语环境和二语学习环境为两个研究维度,以师生为两组研究对象,展开关于学术英语技能需求与评价的调查。结果发现,师生对其中6项学习技能的重要性评价存在明显差异。国际生认为读写技能比听说技能重要,他们对作业和考试相关技能、读写技能和学习“软技能”的自我评价高于听说技能,然而,重要性和需求之间并没有直接关系。而国内学术英语教师的课程要求则以技能全面发展为导向,包括听说读写技能和课堂学习“软技能”,他们对学生的听说技能表现满意度较高,并认为重要的技能就是需要提高的技能。
The current approach to needs analysis in academic English courses in China tends to prioritize student needs,neglecting the gap between student needs and instructor requirements.To address this issue,this paper conducts a survey to explore differences in how international students in an English language context assess academic skills and themselves and how instructors in a Chinese language context assess those skills and students.The results showed that students rated reading and writing skills as more important than listening and speaking skills.However,there was no direct relation between the importance and needs in their perspectives.The results also revealed that the instructors tended to develop all four sklls and other"soft skills"of study-related tasks.Interestingly,the instructors rated their students more satisfactory in listening and speaking tasks than their students did and they believed that the important skills would be those that students should improve.
